Dear All members,
We are pleased to announce a Journal club by Stephen Angus.
* Title: "Large-field Axion Inflation and the Weak Gravity Conjecture"
* Speaker: Stephen Angus (IBS-CTPU)
* Date: 12:00-13:00 PM, 24 April 2015
*Abstract: In this presentation I will review the recent discussion on the implications of the Weak Gravity Conjecture (WGC) for large-field axion inflation models in String Theory. I will discuss some of the arguments and counter-arguments to the proposition that, if the WGC holds, many popular large-field inflation models are ruled out. I will also explore how this stringent constraint might be evaded.
